foxes at guardino
My show at Guardino is up for a few more days until May 21st. The foxes on boxes are some of my personal favorites.

My 3D scanning obsession continues. Since I got a new phone, these scans of my sculptures are getting more and more impressive. This guy for instance is at my art show at Guardino Gallery at the moment.
I dropped off a few new kitties at Giftykittie. Love that place!

This one is a big deal with about 100 new sculptures from me. I will be sharing the feature area at the gallery with the wonderful painter Jennifer Mercede. Please come to the opening if you can! It should be fun. Over the last couple of years I have been diving headlong into clay and for this show I have created some of my largest pieces yet! 'All Together Now' is pictured below.

My shop will be on strike April 11th to 18th because of a recently scheduled fee hike. Here is why we have decided to strike:
I have been a seller on Etsy since 2010 and for many years I really loved being a part of it. In the last several years however Etsy has been squeezing more and more profits from their sellers. They have increased fees, implemented bogus ‘advertising fees’ and more. The latest announcement of a 30% !!!! fee increase was made shortly after Etsy posted record earnings. How does that make any sense other than pure corporate greed? To know more about our grievances please visit our online petition which you can also sign at https://www.coworker.org/petitions/cancel-the-fee-increase-work-with-sellers-not-against-us
Thanks for your support of artists!
Gifty Kitty: this gem of a store just opened its' doors at 3719 N Mississippi Ave in Portland, OR. A whole store filled with just cat themed gifts, a lot of it art by local makers, beautifully curated! I visited today to check it out and it is just gorgeous! There are quite a few of my pieces scattered throughout the store. Purrrrr!
Alle Jahre wieder… The Little Things show at Guardino Gallery is an annual favorite. Look for hair people, amphibians and Ruth Bader Ginsbells from me this year! New: the gallery now sells online too! So don’t be sad if you are not in Portland to visit in person.
This year I am participating in Portland Open Studios for the first time. If you have been wondering about how I do the things I do, come on by and visit me during the weekends of October Saturday + Sunday the 9th + 10th and the 16th + 17th between 10 am and 5pm. You might also want to go home with a new blob of your very own. Lots of brand new work!
More info here: https://portlandopenstudios.com/2021-tour-maps.html I am on the NE Portland map!
I played around with a 3D scanning app on my phone. This is a scan of a ceramic sculpture of mine (see photo in the previous blog post). It aaaalmost works, but not quite. I hope that the technology will get better. Love the idea of being able to turn my sculptures into 3D models! If you are at home in the world of NFT’s you can buy this guy over here.
The toy show at Guardino Gallery is open! A little over 20 artists are playing with their own interpretation of toys. I had a lot of fun making noisy things out of clay: bells, rattles and whistles. Also a few bigger pieces that are more about playing with toys. All the pieces are available in person until July 25th or you can buy them online.
My life has been all about clay in 2021 - such joy! Here is a lineup of new friends that are the result of it. I have been craving to work at a bigger scale and now I am starting to have everything I need to do just that. Nothing can stop me now!
My homage to the late RBG.
The wonderful Guardino Gallery Little Things show is back this year. Because of “you know what” there wasn’t a grand opening this year, but shopping is possible with mask and social distancing OR online.
While we were living in Berlin, I designed the characters and world for two more Puget Sound Energy commercials. These might be my favorite ones yet. Designing the back yard where the bunnies are rocking out to DJ Tortoise had me feeling a little homesick for the Pacific NW.
Oregon Public Broadcasting is checking in with local artists and asked me to send them a video “postcard from the pandemic”. Hello from the lockdown!
Is anyone else feeling like they need a hug? I came up with the perfect present for our hug deprived times. Available here at my etsy store
Oh the colors of India! Here a few sketches from my recent trip.
Dreamworld was an interactive theatre experience happening in an abandoned building near Ostkreuz over the time of three months. My tiny contribution were a couple of marionettes that lived in my friend's Spider Cave. I tried my hardest to make something creepy, which doesn’t come naturally to me. Creepy-cute?
My friend Lenara is hosting my very first cryptoart show in her virtual gallery. It’s crazy and took me a while to wrap my head around. But if you head over to out-in-side gallery on cryptovoxels on Saturday January 4th at 7pm Berlin time (that’s 1pm East Coast and 10am West Coast for my US folks) you can find my avatar hanging around the gallery sipping champagne.
It's the grand opening of the out-in-side gallery and we will be giving away cryptocollectibles. It's also the debut of my #cryptoblobs collection.

The address is the link above. Come by to check out the artwork and get some postcards at the gift shop.
If you're lucky you can find hidden codes in the gallery and surroundings to claim free cryptoblobs cards.
The show is installed and the artworks are already for sale. The giveaway starts during the opening and lasts until all gifts are claimed.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
