dreamworld
Dreamworld was an interactive theatre experience happening in an abandoned building near Ostkreuz over the time of three months. My tiny contribution were a couple of marionettes that lived in my friend's Spider Cave. I tried my hardest to make something creepy, which doesn’t come naturally to me. Creepy-cute?
old masters in new surroundings
My friend Lenara is hosting my very first cryptoart show in her virtual gallery. It’s crazy and took me a while to wrap my head around. But if you head over to out-in-side gallery on cryptovoxels on Saturday January 4th at 7pm Berlin time (that’s 1pm East Coast and 10am West Coast for my US folks) you can find my avatar hanging around the gallery sipping champagne.
It's the grand opening of the out-in-side gallery and we will be giving away cryptocollectibles. It's also the debut of my #cryptoblobs collection.

inktober
I participated in Inktober again this year. Every day during the month of October I drew something, inspired by a prompt. Pictures are the prompts ring,catch, injured, coat, dizzy, ancient, ghost, tread, sling, overgrown, snow, swing, frail, freeze and mindless.
pools of berlin
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am half woman, half fish. So I have been making it my goal to visit as many of the more than 60 Berlin swimming pools as I can. Here are the first 16, including such highlights as the columns and water spouting walruses of 1914 Stadtbad Neukölln, sound and light ambience at Liquidrom and the monumental architecture of the Nazi outdoor olympic pool. And then there are over 60 lakes to discover as well! Why spend any time on dry land at all?
archaeology of kartonzukunft
Part of the concept for KartonZukunft was to uncover cardboard artifacts from a future past cardboard civilization in our archeological dig and to carefully measure and catalogue them. Future past archeologists are pondering the possible uses of these artifacts.

48 busy hours of building, engineering, painting, inventing, collaborating, playing and discovering. Some people came back every day, others spent a few hours working on their cardboard dream. Kartonzukunft!
kartonzukunft at endorphina
Endorphina is a bakery and cafe located in an enchanted Hinterhof off Elsenstraße in Neukölln. The warm hearted and energetic owner Katharina Rottmann opens her space every year to a number of participating 48hour Neukölln artists. Mykle and I are planning to build our cardboard civilization under the roof. We were so lucky to find this place! In several preliminary meetings, plans for sharing the space and collaborating with each others projects are hatched.

getting ready for kartonzukunft
Mykle Hansen and I will be part of the annual 48hour Neukölln art festival that takes place from June 14 to 16 in different locations throughout the Berlin district (or Kiez as they call it here) of Neukölln. The 2019 festival theme is Future III (Future Perfect Continuous Passive) and '“will look far out into the future in 2019, to a point in time when our near future already belongs to the realm of history”. Our project is to build, with the help of the public, a future civilization that is made entirely out of cardboard and simultaneously lead an archaeological excavation of artifacts of this future that is already in the past. So, step one: gather all the cardboard we can get our hands on, mostly using Mykle’s trusty cargo bike.

pictoplasma
I had a blast volunteering at the Pictoplasma conference in Berlin. I knew I would get to see lots of cool character designs and hear great talks. I didn’t know that I would be running around the opening party dressed as the Missing Link.
long forgotten sculpture
Visited old friend and house mate Thilo in Stuttgart and found this long forgotten sculpture still hanging around. No idea what he was for or what the gross thing he is holding is, but he is still somewhat poseable/animatable.
softblobs at betahaus
My softblobs are making an appearance as part of a celebration at Betahaus Neukölln on Saturday April 27th. About a dozen artists are showing their work in the basement of Betahaus for one afternoon/evening only. Music, food and dance included.

old masters
My daughter working on her portfolio to apply to art college got me inspired to pick up a brush again too. I decided to do Gesine versions of famous Old Masters paintings, which is a humbling experience to say the least. They are not called old masters for nothing! The really fabulous thing was that I got to see some of the originals in person at the Louvre in Paris and the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin.

Blobhouse is at the Atlanta Gift and Home Show this week. I can’t believe how many different critter designs there are by now. And the display even won a prize. Nice job Georgetown! I especially like the cardboard computer and rope headset.

Exploring a new material: fabric. I quite like how these soft blobs are turning out. Just a little worried that they are going to take over the apartment.
big news
This summer me and my family moved to Berlin! I had always wanted to live there and I finally made my dream come true. With all the moving out in Portland and all the moving in in Berlin I have not been making nearly enough art. That’s finally beginning to change and I started with painting these dorks on some IKEA boxes.

I got to do some design for the Frank Zappa hologram tour. Super fun!
