lopsided pottery
I took a wheel throwing class and brought home some very lopsided pottery. It's hard to make them straight and even, but then again, maybe it doesn't matter as long as there is a sleeping otter on there.

I made a whole bunch of new garden pets. Some of them will be available at Portland Nursery.
Mykle made me this flat file and table top combo for christmas and I re-arranged things in the basement to make space for the new improved photo set-up. A new coat of paint always changes things for the better, especially if it covers the pastel yellow that was there before. This makes me happy!
Three spots for Puget Sound Electric that I designed. Directed by Mark Gustafson at House Special.
I designed both the characters and the sets for these three spots for Puget Sound Energy. Mark Gustafson directed. It was fun to work with all my old buddies from House Special again.
To all the lovie dovies out there. Some of these snugglers are on display at Guardino Gallery.
Commission for a duck portrait of beloved pet duck Utya.

So many of you asked if they could buy these guys. I only made this one set, so I decided to auction them off on ebay! Auction closes on Tuesday December 22nd.
I had to do it, couldn't resist. My contribution to the mounting excitement.

Finally! People have been asking for weather-proof sculptures from me for ages. And these guys just get better every year if they are left outside to put on moss. My new concrete garden sculptures will be available, among lots of other work, at the Kennedy School in NE Portland next weekend. I'm going to be part of the Siren Nation Art and Craft Sale. Sunday, November 15th, 10am to 4pm. Have a beer with your art.
I am returning to Black Wagon on Mississippi Ave for a sweet show full of things that fly! Balloons, hot air balloons and bees, flies and some evil wasps too.

I now have a kiln goddess watching over my next firing. This is a tradition with potters to have a small god or goddess sitting nearby to protect you from all the many things that can go wrong inside a kiln. I hope she will do a good job.
A few months ago I did the illustrations for this charming web video. My friends at Preditorial created it for NPR's Market Place and I supplied them with the drawings. Fun!
I have created a summer meadow for A Splendid Summer Show at Off The Walls Gallery in the charming town of Shelton , Washington. Local artists Glenhelen Smither and Jim Knull also contribute to the show. Shelton is at the southern tip of the Puget Sound and less than half an hour drive from Olympia, WA. Swing by if you are planning a trip to the Olympic Peninsula this summer!
