art show time!

The Freakybuttrue Peculiarium is a new gallery/oddity museum/ joke shop/ice cream store unlike anything you've ever seen. As if that wasn't reason enough to visit them, there's also going to be a show of my sculptures:

the new litter

I have a whole new litter of grumpy pets.

more bunnies

February 3rd is the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit! That explains why I am making all those bunnies. Here's a loooove bunny.

bunnies

This month it's all about bunnies. I made so many I'm loosing track.

Laika Holiday Mug

My design got chosen for this year's Laika Holiday Mug- everybody in the company got one! So much more stylish and planet-friendly than throw-away cups! Sadly, you can't buy it if you don't work at Laika (which is the cool place where I work).

Robot Love

Robot Love is a show at The Good Gallery here in Portland. It's an amusing group show in its third year and I am going to have a piece in it this year. Opening February 4th! Good times.

Animasyros 2

What a wonderful little festival! Sweet people and a perfect greek island. I had a blast!

Animasyros

I am going to be a featured speaker at Animasyros in Greece. It's an animation festival on the island of Syros and I will be talking about design for commercial content. It's been a long time since I have been to Greece and I can't wait!

opened shop

Hoooray! I opened up shop on etsy. I have all the work from the Planet Astroturf show up for sale right now and will keep adding more, so please check back often! Hopefully some people who didn't know me before will stumble across my work and decide that they can't live without having a Gesine creature in their living room!

The store is called blobhouse and is open for business now!

God Hates straight lines

I made a music video for the band Digital Knife. It's a little different from my usual work, but it was fun exploring new looks and techniques.

goonies

Check out The Goonies show at Lunar Boy Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. I have a Goonies (as in the 80's cult movie) themed sculpture in this group show. The gallery also sells my rock critters year-round!

life on planet astroturf

My solo show Life on Planet Astroturf at the Black Wagon in Portland, Oregon just closed. It was a great success and super fun. Some of the planets are still available!

Me, blogging?

I don't think I am going to turn into a wild blogger, but this is going to be the spot for all Gesine- related news. Mostly pictures I imagine.
